Hocus Pocus Focus stores your settings locally on your device. We don't collect, track, or share any of your data. Ever.
What data is stored
The extension stores the following data locally on your device:
- —Sites to redirect — the sites you add to your list.
- —Destination URL — where you want to land instead.
- —Enabled state — whether the extension is currently active.
Storage uses the browser's storage.sync API. That keeps settings on your device and, if you have turned on your browser's sync (Firefox Sync or Chrome sync), copies them to your own sync account so they follow you between your browsers.
What is not collected
- —No personal information.
- —No browsing history.
- —No data sent to external servers — there are no servers.
- —No analytics or tracking tools.
- —No cookies.
- —No data shared with third parties.
How the data is used
Only to send the sites on your list to the destination URL you set. Nothing else reads it.
Permissions
storage
Save your settings: the sites to redirect, the destination URL, and whether the extension is on.
Scope: Your device, and your browser's sync account (Firefox Sync or Chrome sync) if you use it.
declarativeNetRequest
Send the sites on your list to the destination you chose.
Scope: Rules match only the sites on your list. Your browser applies them itself; the extension never sees which pages you visit.
host_permissions: <all_urls>
Your browser only lets a redirect rule act on a site the extension has access to. You can add any domain, so the extension asks for access to all of them.
Scope: Used only to apply redirect rules to the sites on your list. Page content is never read.
Third-party services
The extension uses no third-party services, analytics, or tracking tools.
Your rights
- —Access — view all your settings on the extension options page.
- —Modify — change your settings at any time.
- —Delete — uninstalling removes the data from this device. If you use your browser's sync (Firefox Sync or Chrome sync), a synced copy can remain in that account until you clear it.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated. Any changes are posted here and in the extension's store listings.
